Comments: This show was, without a doubt, the best KAOS tour show on the tour. The quality is very good and it is complete from beginning to end. I went to this show and can honestly say that Roger blew the audience away.
Roger was very animated this evening and obviously enjoying himself. During 'In The Flesh', he pointed out an individual and said "you...yes you sir, in the black shirt..." He also repeats a verse he especially likes during 'Mother'.
This recording has not been widely circulated. It is from the DAT Master tape that acquired from the original taper after I searched 15 years for it. It was taped with one of the first Sony DAT portable tape recorders from 12th row center stage.
My review:
After careful consideration, and after having listened to other KAOS tour recordings, I have concluded that this is the best one around. Now this show has special significance to me, as I actually went to this show. Sound quality is better than most ROIO's I have heard.
I remember that Roger personally double-checked everything onstage before the show started, which leads me to believe that he is such a perfectionist that he doesn't even trust his own crew to check the sound system. The end result was that the sound was perfect, the best I think I have ever heard at a concert, and better by far than the 1999 and 2000 tour shows that I saw. As far as the KAOS tracks, they were absolutely mind altering, making the Oakland Coliseum a virtual ground zero and forever changing my thinking about music.
